Condition Notes
New in box. Silver Tree Brand Classic carton, factory wrap, unused blades and snap. Smooth gray bone shows the usual pores — that is bone, not a crack. Box has light shelf rub and stacked end labels. No sheath in this set. Judge from the pictures. Knife, tissue, insert, and box ship together.
Description & History
Heinrich Böker’s Solingen factory dates itself to 1869. The chestnut tree with 21 leaves — Tree Brand — is the mark U.S. buyers used for German Böker long before the modern logo. “H. Boker & Co. Solingen” on this tang is the same line as the old export folders, not Magnum or Plus contract steel.
The 2020 is Böker’s large two-blade folding hunter in the Tree Brand Classic series: clip and spey on a 5-1/4" frame, nickel-silver bolsters, brass liners, tree shield. Handle suffix SGRB is Smooth Gray Bone. The 2020 frost on the clip is the year mark on that Classic run. Same pattern was also sold in jigged bone and cocobolo (2020CW).
This is Solingen Tree Brand, not the later Traditional Series 2.0 D2 trapper (110827) that looks similar in gray bone but is the smaller 4-1/4" frame. Box code BK2020GY / 2020SGRB matches the large hunter.
Solingen traditional Böker on this frame is what collectors still hunt. Factory closed in the original Classic box.
