Charming Vintage Porcelain Plate Cherubs Cupids Angels, Reticulated, Oak Leaves For Sale

This charming vintage European plate depicts 2 tousled hair cherubs on high, gazing serenely down and casting flowers on humans below. In the ancient classical world of art, cherubs were winged infants that were believed to influence human lives. The border of the 8 1/4 inch plate has an undulating reticulated pattern incorporating oak leaves. The gilt is just about completely worn away. The top shows no damage other than the worn gilding. There is no blue hue--I see shadow that appears bluish. The underside has the typical rim upon which it sits and that has a fracture which I have photographed. At first it appeared glued to me, but I do not think it was ever separated from the dish nor glued back. If you follow the line with your eye or finger, the fracture does not form a break.
This plate is one of quite a few cherub plates I collected in the late 70s and early 80s. (I have sold 4 and am now listing 3 that are reticulated.) The collection hung in an arrangement above my daughter's white iron bed. Very sweet, very feminine.
