Collectible Bronze Head of Met\'s Coach Casey Stengel, by Rhoda Sherbell For Sale

A small bronze study of the New York Met\'s coach Casey Stengel (1890-1975) by American sculptor Rhoda Sherbell, born in New York in 1933. She executed several works for the Baseball Hall of Fame, other portraits and figures. The bronze head- 2\" on a simple wood pedestal (overall height 6 1/2\"). Signed in pencil on the pedestal: \"Rhoda Sherbell/ to Joan Payson\". Joan Payson was part owner of the New York Mets. Casey Stengel was manager of the NY Yankees in the 1950\'s and NY Mets 1962-1965. This bronze was in an estate with a lot of Mets and major league baseball memorabilia.
