Very nice Covellite crystal specimen with vibrant iridescent colors and several flat high luster crystal faces. At one end (which is the exterior and is more tarnished dark) there is some accessory mineralization including some green Malachite? and the Covellite has several platy stacked crystal layered forms. On the other end is some white Quartz? and some Pyrite/Chalcopyrite in areas as well.
Vibrant purple, blue and teal colors flash as it is rotated around when light hits the various faces.There is an old collection catalog number on white paint however I don't know whose collection that is from as I bought as part of a larger collection of higher end specimens from someone else down the line of its history. I did however lose the label that I had gotten with it.... I had put it in a display box and set the label aside with other labels several years ago and now cannot find it.. but I believe it said the "Leonard Mine".
