This elegant demitasse/ espresso cup and saucer set was made in Italy and signed by ACF (Artistiche Ceramiche Fiorentine). ACF is a 75-year-old Italian company established to preserve 18th and 19th century designs, including the French Sevres-style tradition, in porcelain objets d’art.
True to this goal, this cup and saucer set is crafted in the Sevres style. It features fine white porcelain with hand applied floral decoration in pink, royal blue and green with gold highlights. The cup is encased in an ornate, gold-toned metal filigree holder with a decorative handle and tripod feet.
Standing 2 3/4” tall, the cup measures 2 1/4” in diameter and 3” wide including the handle. The saucer is 4 3/8” in diameter and 3/4” tall. Together the pair weighs 8 ounces, and the cup will accommodate 2 fluid ounces of your favorite strong brew. The saucer is signed with a black and gold mark as follows:

This vintage set is in excellent condition. It has no chips, cracks, or repairs to mar its glossy surface. The white porcelain is perfectly clean with no stains, the gold toned metal work is in near perfect condition with no discoloration, and the cup is affixed securely within the holder. Very slight scratching and minor loss to the gold trim are evidence of decades of prior gentle use. Imperfections in the porcelain and decoration (please see photos 10 and 16) are evidence of hand crafting.
