Up for sale today is this El Camino Real highway sign for Mission Santa Barbara, founded December 1, 1786. the sign shows the distances to the nearest two missions: Santa Buena Ventura to the south, and Santa Inez to the north. The sign is made to the exact standards as used around 1915–1928 by the Auto Club of Southern California to sign all the missions along El Camino Real.
An original of these, complete with the logo of the Automobile Club of Southern California, would cost many thousands of dollars if it ever came to the market. Please note that I can make an El Camino Real sign for any of the missions, in northern or southern California. Inquire about custom orders!
The sign is flat printed on steel, with completely accurate layout and fonts. It weighs about 3 lb. 2 oz., and is 17 by 7 inches. If you would like a different size, please do not hesitate to inquire.
