Up for sale is a vintage Esterbrook No. 407 Dip-Less Desk Set, complete with its original
teardrop base, clear glass inkwell reservoir, locking bracket, and desk pen. This classic
Art Deco piece was manufactured in the USA during the 1930s/1940s.Item Details & Features:
- Inkwell: Clear glass dome reservoir has been thoroughly washed and cleaned out. It is
free of heavy ink staining and cloudiness although still some ink spots on the glass, but glass shows beautifully.
- Locking Bracket: Includes the original silver-tone metal locking band used to secure
the glass into the base.
- Base: Teardrop-shaped black Bakelite base. No major cracks or chips observed.
- Pen: Original taper desk pen body included (maroon/dark red tone handle).
- Nib: Features a desirable, gold-plated Esterbrook 1555 \"Gregg Shorthand\" Fine Renew-Point nib unit.Condition Notes (Selling As-Is / Unrestored):
While the glass well has been nicely cleaned out, the pen itself remains in its original,
unrestored, and untested condition. There is still vintage dried ink buildup present on the
metal nib and feed assembly. The nib unit has not been forced or unscrewed.This is a fantastic head-start for a collector or restorer since the hardest part cleaning
the glass reservoir is already done!
