Up for sale is a breathtaking, matching pair of vintage/antique German fine porcelain charger plates. These oversized 12.5-inch cabinet plates showcase the heights of German porcelain mastery, combining intricate sculptural elements with delicate fine art painting.

• The Borders:Feature an extraordinary, dimensional Capodimonte-style high-relief (repoussé) border rendered in a soft ivory/cream and pastel yellow palette. The relief scenes depict classical mythological motifs with beautifully detailed cherubs, woodland nymphs, and rams/goats intertwined with scrolling foliage and a scalloped, heavily gilded rim.
• The Centerwells:Each plate boasts a clean white porcelain center uniquely hand-painted with vibrant, multicolored Dresden-style botanical arrangements, featuring a prominent central pink rose and purple dahlia, accented by scattered floral sprigs.
• The Backstamps:The undersides feature the prominent underglaze blueCrowned "N" mark, along with the stamped words"Made in Report:
  Both plates are in excellent vintage condition. There are absolutely no chips, cracks, hairline fractures, or repairs to either the flat porcelain or the fragile high-relief borders. There is only very light, age-appropriate wear to the gold gilding along the outer rims, as shown in the photographs.   • The History of the Mark:The crowned "N" logo was originally the historic trademark of the famousRoyal Capodimonteporcelain factory in Naples, Italy, during the 18th century. Because the original Capodimonte factory closed in the early 1800s, the symbol was never universally copyrighted. In the late 19th and mid-20th centuries, premier German factories specializing in Dresden-style art porcelain adopted variations of the crowned "N" to indicate their pieces were crafted in that ornate, luxury Capodimonte tradition.
  • The Sandizell Factory:Established in1951by Rudolf Höffner in the town of Sandizell (Bavaria, West Germany), this factory gained a stellar reputation for producing high-end, luxury decorative porcelain wares. They specialized in Dresden lace figurines, ornate rococo clocks, and heavily decorated relief plates.
