The Fall of Babylon was a massive outdoor historical and musical spectacle directed by Imre Kiralfy and exhibited in Boston by P.T. Barnum and J.A. Bailey in the summer of 1890. Location: Staged at Boston\'s Oakland Garden, a popular resort and amusement area situated near a major transportation hub.Scale: The production featured massive viewing stands built to seat 10,000 people, an immense stage, over 1,000 performers and ballet dancers, and elaborate scenic designs by John Rettig.Partnership: Originally an Imre Kiralfy creation, the spectacular production was acquired and heavily promoted by the joint firm of P.T. Barnum and J.A. Bailey as part of their grand outdoor exhibitions.Transportation: Special rapid-transit electric and steam train lines ran excursion fares directly to Oakland Garden, moving thousands of attendees to and from the venue in minutes.
