In conjunction with the US Marine Corps, we recently designed and tooled an enhanced version of our 1606AC pack frame, designated the 1606MC. Based on the training and combat usage of this frame by the Marines, we were able to develop a reinforcement to the vertical stay area of the frame for significantly increased strength and durability in the field. This enhanced design adds only 0.15 lbs. to the total weight of the frame. The 1606MC remains compliant with current US military standards for airborne deployment.After extensive testing of the 1606MC, the USMC will adopt this improvement and it is now available to all of our customers. The 1606AC is still currently available. However, we encourage the use of the 1606MC because our first priority is putting the best available product into the hands of our troops and end-users. The 1606MC remains fully "ALICE compatible". Please note the picture showing the AC (left) and MC (right) frames side by side. The slots in the vertical stay area of the 1606AC are gone in the 1606MC. This may cause compatibility issues with your current pad set designs.
