6 x 9.5 x 14 cm, 855 grams (1.9 lbs)This is a nice large block of fossiliferous shale from theFalciferum Zone, Upper Lias, Lower Jurassic, Sandsend, near Whitby, North Yorkshire, England. It contains two complete, 3-D, Grammoceras ammonites, some small bivalves, some broken belemnites, and some other things I couldn\'t identify.The larger ammonite measures a little over 6 cm (2 1/4\") across. The whole specimenmeasures approx. 14 cm. (5 1/2\") across and displays very well (photo 2).
