Gathering of Eagles- 1986 Limited Edition lithograph. #44 of 1000. This lithograph is matted and framed with 12 more signatures added to the 8 signatures it originally came with, for a total of 20 signatures.
Lithography on heavyweight paper, image size. Signed by 19 Ace Pilots and The Artist, Robert Taylor for a total of 20 signatures.Does not come with the original certificate or any COA, as it was lost somewhere along the years.
This is the high-quality limited edition, signed art print issued by The Military Gallery of artist Robert Taylor’s painting of a flight of B-17 bombers of the Mighty Eighth defended by American US P51 Mustangs and British RAF Spitfires from attack by German Luftwaffe FW 190 warplanes over Belgium in late October 1943, during World War II. It was issued in an edition of 1,000 signed and numbered prints, and this is number 44 of 1000.
This lithograph is very good condition. It is framed but without glass on it. The frame is in good condition with only a little chip on the two bottom corners of the frame as shown in the pictures posted.
The lithograph is signed at bottom area of the image by the artist, Robert Taylor and 7 World War II Ace Pilots. Further below in the bottom matted area are 12 More Ace Pilot Signatures (American, British and German fighter aces).These are all actual signatures and not facsimiles of signatures.
Eight signatures on bottom area of lithograph are of:
Robert Taylor, artist. To the right of that is Gunther Rall. To the right of that is Geoffrey Page. To the right of that is Jim Goodson.
Below the Robert Taylor signature is that of Adolf Galland. To the right of that is Walter Krupinski. To the right of that is Peter Townsend. To the right of that is Hub Zemke.
Twelve additional signatures in the matting at the bottom of the picture are of:
Steve Pisanos. To the right of that is Art Fiedler. To the right of that is Clyde B. East. To the right of that is a Wings silver toned medallion, which actually looks more vivid silver than it does in these pictures posted. To the right of that is the signature of Robin Olds. To the right of that is Clinton DeWitt Burdick. To the right of that is (unknown to me at this time).
Below the Steve Pisanos signature is the signature of Bill Gale. To the right of that is Jim Brooks. To the right of that is Bob Karr. To the right of that is (Unknown to me at this time). To the right of that is Donald Cummings. To the right of that is Gabby Gabreski.===
Framed size is approximately 40" width x 34" height and 1-1/2" depth or thick.
Picture size unframed with matting and all signatures is approximately 35" width x 29-1/4" height.
There is a white foam cardboard on the back of the frame to keep the picture in place.
