GENUINE ANCIENT Iron Penannular Bracelet, 2nd Century BCE For Sale

Forged from iron with a fine, consistent rounded section, the bracelet is shaped into a pronounced open penannular form with a broad terminal gap and simple, unbevelled ends. 

The surface presents a textured silvery-grey patina with granular pitting and delicate veining of reddish-brown ferric oxide, evidence of prolonged interment and authentic age. This refined, minimalist design is characteristic of late La Tene Celtic craftsmanship, representing a pared-back iteration of Iron Age personal adornment worn across Northern and Western Europe. Comparable examples are documented in excavations from Britain and the Low Countries, with parallels held in the collections of the British Museum and the Rijksmuseum van Oudheden, Leiden. Diameter 6.2 x 5 cm (2 7/16 x 1 15/16 in.).
