How to make sure you need a 10 inch rod? Easy! Loosen thelower barrel band off your stock and from the outside of the stock you mustsee the cleaning rod holder (nut) where the rod screws into. If you do not,then you will see the rod holder in the “inside” of the stock. – This will befor the 12 ½ inch cleaning rod.
Another give away forthe 10½” rod could be: a) your rifle is dated 1939 or prior. b) Your riflestock is a solid walnut. Laminated stocks were introduced mid 1938’s therefore,they are more likely to need the long rod.
