It shows the German three-masted barque Gorch Fock under full sail on the water, surrounded by several smaller boats. The ship's name is visible on its bow. The reverse has a typed caption which reads: 'IDP1 3) Kiel Sept.4'1972: Windjammers parade in Kiel waters where the Olympic Regatta are held: The german "Gorch Fock" dwarves a small sail boat as she enters Kiel waters during this parade.'
