Vintage Goebel M.I. Hummel #7/0 "Merry Wanderer," Full Bee Trademark, 6.5" Tall
CONDITION NOTE: The tip of the umbrella is broken off. Please see photo 3. There are no other chips, cracks, or repairs that I can find.
Merry Wanderer is the most famous Hummel design and has become the emblem of the whole line. A cheerful boy strides along with his umbrella over his shoulder and his carpetbag in hand, on the classic stepped base.
Marks: Incised mold number 7/0, the blue TMK-2 "Full Bee" trademark (about 1940 to 1959), a "Germany" stamp, and the incised M.I. Hummel signature on the front of the base. A previous owner's name is written on the underside. This is an early production piece, not a modern reissue.
