GREEN LANTERN #2 — the weakness is right there on the cover.
Cover-dated October 1960, this is only the second issue of Hal Jordan's own title, and it opens a door the series would keep walking through for decades: the introduction of the Qward universe. In "Secret of the Golden Thunderbolts!", a winged Qwardian warrior hurls lightning from a mountaintop while Hal realizes his ring can't touch it. His thought balloon states the rule: "My power ring doesn't work against anything YELLOW!"
The issue also marks the moment Thomas Kalmaku learns Green Lantern's secret identity, bringing Hal's closest confidant into the circle. John Broome wrote it, with Gil Kane and Joe Giella on interiors and a cover by Kane and Murphy Anderson.
To be clear about this copy: it carries a CGC Restored grade, 5.5 Fine-, Slight (C-1), with off-white to white pages. CGC identifies the restoration as a small amount of color touch on the cover and nothing else. The copy is priced for a purple label, not a blue one. It's a well-presenting early Green Lantern at a fraction of the unrestored price.
