ORIGINAL ARTWORK FROM SWEDEN ART GALLERYA genuine mid-century modern Scandinavian pentant lamp by Helena Tynell for Flygsfors (Sweden) 1960s. Up for sale is a beautiful, authentic vintage glass pendant light designed by the renowned Finnish glass artist Helena Tynell. This specific model was manufactured by the famous Swedish glassworks Flygsfors during the 1960s. Unlike her later 1970s work for German glashütte Limburg, this is a true piece of original Swedish/Scandinavian glassmaking history. The glass: features a heavy amber/honey-colored glass outer shade with a distinct ribbed/ringed texture. Inside, there is a second textured clear glass cylinder that beautifully diffuses the light and creates a warm, atmospheric glowwithout glare. The top cone designed in the classic mid-century style. Please note that following the authentic production standards of this model, the top cone is made of period-correct faux-teak hard plastic/bakelite. This was a liberate choice by the manufacturer to handle the heat from the bulb and prevent cracking. Original European/Swedish wiring.
