this is quite possibly the largest image of The Smurfs used in their long-running 1980s cartoon. This hand-drawn 12-field production cel features three Smurfs -- Papa Smurf, Smurfette, and I believe the third is Clumsy or perhaps Harmony. The images are really big, about 5 inches tall, much bigger than you see in almost any other cel from the Smurfs. The cel is placed on a hand-painted Hanna-Barbera Studio production background, but I can't be sure which one.
The Smurfs premiered on 9/12/81 and ran for 256 episodes, 418 stories, and six TV specials over the course of nine years. This is an outstanding cel to serve as a keepsake from that classic Saturday morning show.
