This chrome-era postcard features a striking aerial-angle view of the New Hollywood Knickerbocker Hotel, located at 1714 N. Ivar Ave., Hollywood, California — just one block west of the famous Hollywood and Vine intersection. The large brick building is shown in vivid mid-century color, with yellow taxicabs parked at the entrance canopy and a busy street scene below. Signage visible on the hotel includes references to Dining, Pool, and Cocktails, capturing the glamour of postwar Hollywood hospitality. The Hollywood Knickerbocker Hotel is a historically significant landmark, known for its celebrity clientele and storied past. Published by Mellinger Studios of Pasadena, California, and printed by Dexter of West Nyack, New York, this card dates to the 1950s photochrome era. The back carries the standard divided back layout with printed hotel advertising describing TV and air-conditioned rooms, a Dining Room, Cocktail Lounge, Swimming Pool, and Banquet and Meeting Rooms. A handwritten note in blue ink on the message side reads 'This was our stop place,' adding a charming personal touch from a past visitor.
