Rare 1904 Russo-Japanese War Postcard – Imperial Russian Army at Dalin Pass (No. 3)
Up for sale is an authentic, highly collectible 1904 Imperial Russian military photo postcard from the Russo-Japanese War (1904–1905). This historic piece was published during the conflict by the renowned D. P. Efimov publishing house and features a rare documentary photograph of Russian forces in the field.
Historical Context & Details: Front Caption (Pre-Revolutionary Russian): "На позиціи у Далинскаго перевала. № 3." (At the position near the Dalin Pass. No. 3).
The Scene: Features a detailed view of Imperial Russian Army soldiers and officers gathered around a field artillery gun piece deployed in a rugged, dug-in mountainous position at the strategic Dalin Pass in Manchuria.
Back Details: Official Universal Postal Union (Всемирный Почтовый Союз. Россия) layout. Features the bilingual French/Russian headers (Carte Postale / Открытое письмо) and the crisp, authentic publisher imprint dated 1904.
Condition Report:
Status: Unposted, unused, and completely free of any handwriting or ink marks.
Preservation: Excellent antique condition for its 120+ year age. The paper retains its authentic cream/beige vintage tone.
Structure: Edges and corners are remarkably crisp with only microscopic, natural handling wear. No major creases, tears, or water damage.(Please inspect the high-resolution scans carefully to verify exact condition before purchasing).
