Imperial Russian-style silver match safe / vesta case featuring elaborate raised decoration commemorating the Romanov Tercentenary of 1913. The rectangular case is decorated on one side with the Imperial Russian double-headed eagle above the date 1913, and on the reverse with a portrait medallion of Tsar Nicholas II beneath another Imperial eagle.The piece has a richly oxidized dark ground with high-relief silver decoration, creating strong contrast and excellent visual depth. The details include the Imperial crown, double-headed eagle, shield emblems, crossed standards, scepter and orb motifs, and a Cyrillic inscription around the portrait medallion.The case bears spurious Russian-style marks, including pseudo hallmarks, and is being sold as silver with spurious marks.
