This charming early 20th-century printed postcard depicts the scenic Glen Ellis River with Thorn Mountain rising in the background, located in Jackson, New Hampshire. The hand-colored lithograph beautifully captures the autumn landscape, featuring brilliant red and green foliage lining the rocky riverbank, with a soft blue sky and white clouds completing the pastoral White Mountains scene. The composition showcases New Hampshire\'s famous fall color in a style typical of early color printing of the era. The card is a printed lithograph published by The Atkinson News Co. of Tilton, New Hampshire, catalog number 1449. The publisher\'s imprint is clearly visible along the left edge of the back. The card bears the iconic AN Co. logo on the reverse. The postage box on the back indicates rates for Domestic, Island Possessions, Canadian, Mexican (1 cent), and Foreign (2 cents) postage, which is consistent with postcard postal regulations of approximately 1907-1910. The back of the card features an undivided-style back with a dotted center line dividing message and address areas, and the printed instruction \'Write message here.\' The card is unposted and has never been used, with no stamps, postmarks, or written messages present on either side. Condition is Excellent — corners are sharp and intact, the image is bright and vivid, paper stock shows only the lightest age-toning consistent with over a century of storage.
