King Edward VIII Coronation Teapot abdicated DTD May 12, 1937 Lancaster, England
This teapot is in very nice shape, with colored decoration on each side, and gilded accents.
Edward VIII became king in January of 1946 and abdicated the throne in December 1936. The coronation had already been set for May of 1937, and the commemorative goods were already being sold.
This teapot has been lightly used, but I believe I do see some tea stains at the strainer holes.
Measures 5 inches tall at lid knob, and is a total of about 9 inches long including handle and spout.
Light handling wear and normal imperfections to pot and glaze.
No chips or cracks.
What a nice addition to your collection!
