VINTAGE MEXICAN TARAHUMARA WATER/BEER FORMENTING 9 \" HIGH JUG WITH RAWHIDE
This Tarahumara jug is most likely from the early 1900s. They were most commonly used for water, beer formenting and for storage of food and seeds. Most of these type jugs were bound with rawhide most likely from deer skin. It measures 9\" high x 11\" wide x 3 1/2\" diameter at top x 4\" diameter at base. PLEASE NOTE that because this is handmade the bottom does not sit level. Placing it on a small saurcer seems to balance it better. The previous owners of this jug used this to accent their southwestern decor!
