Vintage Indian Thanjavur / Tanjore Multi-Metal Buddha Art Plate / Charger
Beautiful and highly detailed traditional Indian Thanjavur art plate featuring a seated Buddha surrounded by elaborate repoussé religious, floral, bird and decorative motifs.
Traditional Thanjavur art plates are produced using a brass base with contrasting embossed copper and silver decoration. This example displays the characteristic gold-tone brass ground, reddish copper-colored panels and dark silver-colored raised relief work.
