A striking Green Fluorite with Druzy Quartz specimen featuring translucent sea-green fluorite beneath a dense coating of sparkling microcrystals.
This substantial specimen weighs 2 lb 5 oz and measures approximately 5.5" × 4.5" × 1.5". Its surface is covered with numerous rounded and angular formations coated in extremely fine druzy crystals, producing the frosted, sugar-like appearance often referred to by collectors as “Sugar Fluorite.”
Along the natural broken edges, the underlying translucent green fluorite is clearly visible, creating an attractive contrast between the glassier green interior and the finely textured crystalline surface.
You will receive the exact specimen shown in the photographs.

A DISTINCTIVE DRUZY FLUORITE FORMATION
What makes this specimen especially interesting is its unusual surface texture.
The green fluorite is extensively covered by a fine secondary druzy coating. Thousands of tiny crystals create a sparkling, almost frosted surface over the larger formations beneath.
This type of material is sometimes sold as Sugar Fluorite because the extremely fine druzy crystals resemble a coating of sugar. Comparable specimens are described as fluorite covered by a later generation of fine quartz crystals.
The exposed areas around the sides provide a fascinating look into the specimen, revealing the translucent green mineral beneath the textured crystalline surface.
SUBSTANTIAL COLLECTOR SPECIMEN
At more than 2¼ pounds, this is considerably larger than many druzy fluorite specimens offered as small hand specimens.
Its combination of size, pale green coloration, extensive druzy coverage and unusual topography gives it enough visual presence to display as a cabinet specimen, bookshelf mineral, desk specimen or natural stone centerpiece.
It would be particularly attractive under directional display lighting, which brings out the thousands of tiny reflective crystal surfaces.
ABOUT FLUORITE
Fluorite is a calcium fluoride mineral prized by collectors for its wide range of colors, transparency and distinctive crystal formations.
While fluorite is perhaps best known for forming cubes and octahedrons, secondary mineral growth can partially or completely cover the original crystal surfaces. Fine druzy quartz coatings can create the sparkling "sugar" appearance seen on specimens of this type.
Some fluorite specimens also fluoresce under ultraviolet light, although fluorescence varies according to locality and mineral composition and UV fluorescence is not guaranteed for this specimen unless specifically tested.
METAPHYSICAL TRADITIONS
In metaphysical traditions, fluorite is associated with mental clarity, focus, organization and energetic balance. Green fluorite in particular is traditionally associated with renewal, harmony and clearing stagnant energy.
Quartz is commonly associated with clarity, amplification and positive energy.
These associations are based on traditional spiritual beliefs and are provided for informational purposes only. They are not intended as medical claims.
NATURAL CHARACTERISTICS
This is a genuine natural mineral specimen and has not been polished or manufactured into a uniform shape.
Natural fractures, cleavage surfaces, inclusions, mineral deposits, contact points, cavities, irregular edges and variations in crystal coverage are normal characteristics of mineral specimens and are not considered defects.
Please examine all photographs carefully, particularly the detailed macro photographs, as they show the actual surface texture and natural characteristics of this piece.
