Lladro Don Quixote 1030 Glossy Porcelain Figurine Sculpture 1977-1984This is one of Lladros\' most sought after collectables, and in 1985, I had six of them. I was stationed at Torrejon, east of Madrid, in the early 80\'s and Lladro shops were everywhere. Bases, hospitals, roadside plazas, every tourist attraction, every town.. EVERYWHERE. I had no idea at the time what Lladro was. I was home on leave in 1983 when I saw a couple of pieces in a jewelry store in Indianapolis. This piece I recognized! I s**t you not, they were selling it for $7500! Well, guess what I was doing when I got back to Spain!! The dollar was KING back then and I was picking up NICE pieces for 5-10 bucks. Bought more than 60 pieces before I transferred out in \'85. Took a while, but I snagged 6 of these for my family at a fraction of the price in the States. This piece is the only one left, well preserved by my grandparents for almost 40 years. They passed away and it came back to me. The others have mysteriously disappeared (sold, I guarantee!). I don\'t know the exact year this was made, most of what I bought over there sat on shelves for who knows how long (you could tell they were older from how much dust was on them). I left in 1985, so it has to be at least \'84 or older. There was a box back then, gramma kept everything. But considering how flimsy and cheaply made it was, I doubt it survived long.This is a very large piece, and I don\'t really have the room for it, so it\'s time for it to go. It does not have a base; I was not aware that I could get those back then.This piece is pre-owned, but I have to list it as used because it\'s not new. Plenty of pics and a short video show how fine of condition it is. It is currently in Logansport, Indiana. Can be picked up if buyer wishes or shipped UPS. If shipped, it will be packaged to the 9\'s!! I will cover any extra cost above buyers\' cost.You can buy someone else\'s, but this one has history and a story!!
