Up for sale/sale is a lot of three (3) vintage original 1930s studio portrait photographs.
Lot Details:
Studio Mat Portrait: Features a woman in a period dress mounted inside an original easel-back cardboard presentation folder. Stamped Hutchcraft Fine Arts Studio, 123 ½ Alamo Plaza, San Antonio, Texas at the bottom.
Portrait Print #1: Handsome studio portrait of a man in a suit and tie. Printed on textured paper stock with photographer's signature emblem in lower corner.
Portrait Print #2: Studio portrait of a smiling woman with a 1930s finger-wave hairstyle and V-neck top.
History & Provenance Note:
J.S. Hutchcraft operated his photography studio on Alamo Plaza in downtown San Antonio during the late 1920s and 1930s, making these a great piece of local Texas historical portraiture.
Condition:
Pre-owned vintage condition with typical signs of age. The mounted portrait mat shows light wear along the edges/hinges. One unmounted print shows heavy foxing/adhesive staining on the reverse side (does not affect image front). Reverse of one portrait has faint handwritten pencil notes. Please review all photos closely for exact cosmetic details
