William Boldenweck "For Mayor" Celluloid Button: A beautiful portrait piece from his 1901 Republican mayoral offer in Chicago. Boldenweck was a vital figure in local history, serving as the Mayor of Lake View prior to its annexation, and presiding over the iconic engineering feat of reversing the Chicago River in 1900.
Condition Details:-Backing & Mechanisms: Superb local provenance! Both pins were manufactured by the iconic Chicago union badge maker Geraghty & Co. * The Boldenweck button retains its original, crisp paper backmark featuring the "177 La Salle St. Chicago" address and the Allied Printing Trades Council union bug. * The Brundage pin features a highly desirable, scarce embossed metal backstamp ("Geraghty & Co. / Chicago") stamped directly into the brass reverse. Both original pin mechanisms are completely intact, structurally solid, and fully functional with minor age-related metal oxidation.
