Condition

Here are some general condition notes for this set of comics:

• There might be a few small tears around the edges of some dates.
• These comics are old and tanned, but can be handled with ease. Some dates are significantly more tanned than others.
  • The right side is often more tanned, sometimes significantly more tanned.
• Some of the margins are often narrow or absent.
  • Left, right, and/or the bottom margin are often narrow. We tried to document when the margin was absent, but we might not have captured everything.
• Some dates might have some slight ink bleed-through or transfer.
  • We documented a number of dates with mostly light ink transfer.
  • A lot of ink transfer marks were mostly along the right edge where the printing press roller might have left a little something on the edge of the paper.
• Comics do not always have a date printed on them. The date is sometimes written in pencil on the reverse side.
• The newspaper removed the copyrights from the comics (not uncommon). If you look closely you will see a white bar where it was removed.
• Since this is older newsprint, the paper will sometimes have small darker inclusions or fibers from the paper pulp.

We also made some notes of some date specific issues (we tried to avoid making too many notes, and instead preferred to go the generalized condition notes above). This should serve as a guide to the condition of the set, it is possible that we have not caught everything:
