Wonderful large natural conch shell that has been converted for use as a horn/trumpet. Tested and produces a strong, resonant horn tone. See video.
This is a substantial shell weighing approximately 2 lbs. 13 oz. It has a beautiful salmon-pink interior and a wonderfully aged exterior with considerable natural patina, weathering, marine encrustation and surface character.
The shell shows age and wear throughout. There are worn and chipped areas around the shell and lip, along with an intentionally opened area used for sounding the horn. Please examine all photographs closely for the exact condition.
I have not attempted to assign a specific age or cultural origin to the piece. It is being offered as a vintage/older natural conch shell horn.
