NOS Sealed 1847 Rogers Bros Springtime Silverplate Sugar Spoon & Cheese Server For Sale

This is a pair of 1847 Rogers Bros. silverplate serving pieces in the Springtime pattern, still sealed and never used.

What makes them worth a look is that nobody ever opened them — the factory anti-tarnish sleeves are still crimped shut, so the plate has never been washed, rubbed or worn through at the high points the way loose flatware always is.

• One Springtime sugar spoon, sealed in its original anti-tarnish sleeve
• One Springtime cheese server — the broad leaf-shaped blade with the notched, two-point tip — also sealed in its original sleeve
• No box, chest or paperwork; the two individual sleeves are the only packaging

• Sugar spoon: about 5 1/2 inches long
• Cheese server: about 6 3/4 inches long
• Both measured through the sleeves

New old stock, unused, sold sealed exactly as found. Slight discoloration due to age is visible in the spoon\'s bowl.

• Spoon bowl: light speckled toning and a warm cast, seen through the sleeve
• Sleeves: creased, cloudy, with tan and orange staining on the plastic — that is the packaging, not the metal
• Both pieces: no monogram
• High points (spoon-bowl back, blade tip, handle backs): no plate wear-through visible
• Not assessable through a sealed sleeve: fine hairlines, the true brilliance of the finish, and whether the bowl toning polishes off

The reverse of each handle is stamped \"Springtime\" in script, over \"1847 ROGERS BROS.\", over \"IS\" — the pattern name, the maker, and International Silver. This is silverplate, not sterling: there is no sterling or 925 mark, and none is claimed. The \"1847\" in the mark is the brand\'s heritage date, not the year these were made.

Springtime was introduced by 1847 Rogers Bros. in 1957, and serving pieces are the part of any plate pattern that goes missing first — they got used, and used pieces wear. A sealed, unused pair is the version a collector completing a Springtime service rarely gets offered.
