A colorful matched set of serving pieces done in luster ware. They are shiny and look nearly brand new.
The large round porcelain serving platter has an orange luster cavetto that sports three medallions with hand painted designs of flowers and fruit. The center of the dish has an opalescent glaze. This is matched in the central compote dish.
The feet on the bowl and platter are not glazed. A stamped mark on the center of both bases reads NORITAKE above a wreath with the letter M. Below this is the mark MADE IN JAPAN. This mark was registered in 1918 and seems to have come in to use in the early 1920's and used until around 1940.
