an original vintage 1943 CENTRAL STATION FIRE CONTROL SYSTEM HANDBOOK for the B-29 Super Fortress. T.O. 11-70A-1 C.F.C. This lengthy manual covers all aspects of the remote control gun turret system on the B-29 Superfortress. many pages (some colored) of diagrams and schematics and photos . This copy was owned and used by Sgt. William H. Zalabak who was the top gunner on \"Black Magic\" (aircraft serial # 42-6272, Plane No. 276) , a Boeing B-29 Superfortress assigned to the 40th Bombardment Group. The 40th operated in the Pacific and the China-Burma-India theaters. This plane flew high-risk missions like the raid on Omura, Japan and experience intense combat conditions typical of B-29 operations over \"The Hump\" and Marianas campaigns. Sgt. Zalabak was later the top gunner on the crew of the \"Double Whammy\" , a B-29 \"Superfort\" from the U.S. Far East Air Force\'s 19th Bomb Group during the Korean War. No doubt this manual accompanied him on his missions.I\'ve included the two vintage photos of Sgt. Zalabak and his crew members as reference only. The listing is just for the manual.
