Oklahoma US Route 75 marker.
Up for sale today is this Oklahoma US Route 75 sign. Made to the exact 1926 state standard as used by the state of Oklahoma on its highways. This charmingly rough-hewn design, with a decidedly unusual shield shape and fonts, was used for the very first posting of US highways in Oklahoma. Starting in 1927, Oklahoma gradually revised their signage over the years to more closely resemble the federal style.
US Highway 75 is the main north-south highway coming out of Tulsa, where it is a major freeway. To the north, it connects Tulsa to Bartlesville and Independence, Kansas. To the south, it leads to Okmulgee, Atoka, and Durant, before crossing the Red River into Texas, where it leads directly into downtown Dallas.
An original of these is very hard to come by. They were retired from the roads of Oklahoma long ago, with most of them being destroyed and only a few examples circulating on the collector's market. An original would easily run many hundreds or even thousands of dollars on the collector's market. So here's your chance to get your hands on a fantastic display piece...without breaking the bank.
The sign is 16¾ by 16⅛ inches, and weighs 5 lb. 2 oz.
This is a high quality, heavy steel replica sign. Accept no imitations that may be one-third this price, but are one-tenth the quality. No cheap tin to be found here, with the wrong fonts, layouts, size, shape, or any other manner of embarrassing imperfection. This one will make even the most discerning collector stick their nose into the sign, as it looks that good from that close!

Figure about 7 lb. 2 oz. for shipping, packed carefully and mailed from zip code 61833. Our signs are only printed when you buy them. Allow about 10 business days for manufacturing, in addition to the usual delivery time.
The watermark and bear logo in the design preview will not appear on the actual sign. We have begun adding a watermark because we have had problems with other companies copying our artwork to make lesser-quality imitations. You will only get this high level of quality in design and materials from Signs by Jake.
