Fresh from an estate is an old woven Indian basket .
Looks like examples of AMERICAN TOHONO O'ODHAM / PAPAGO BASKET which dates to about 1940
An unusual looking wonderful basket and with the original material which connects the top of the basket through the lid to the bottom of the basket.
It has a great looking patina from age as well. It has what looks like hard leather type pieces woven in a dark color through the lighter weaving in the basket as seen in my photos.
Measures approximately 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 with the lid completely shut. It does extend quite a bit with the material through the middle.
ALL NATURAL MATERIALS AND EARTH TONE COLORS.
THIS BASKET IS IN GOOD CONDITION FOR AGE, AS YOU CAN SEE FROM THE PICTURES!
There is no structural damage repairs or breaks.
The lid is intact and it has an inset weaving so that the lid fills on securely there might be a few little wefts missing, but I do not see much of anything at all as far as defects
