Offered here is an original 1962 Biltmore Dairy Milk Spinner metal advertising sign, complete with its original flange mounting bracket. The manufacturer's date code, A-M 9-62, indicates production in September 1962.
Founded by George Washington Vanderbilt II, the Biltmore Estate established the Biltmore Dairy in the late 1800s to provide fresh dairy products for Biltmore House, demonstrate modern and profitable farming practices, and generate income through commercial dairy sales. The dairy went on to become one of the estate's most successful and enduring enterprises.
This is an exceptionally well-preserved example. The colors remain rich and vibrant, the graphics are crisp, and the sign appears to have seen little, if any, outdoor use. It retains excellent gloss and outstanding eye appeal, displaying as though it has been carefully preserved for decades.
Examples of this spinner sign are rarely found in such remarkable condition, and even fewer still retain their original flange mounting bracket. Whether you're a serious advertising collector, a Biltmore enthusiast, or a collector of North Carolina memorabilia, this is an outstanding and increasingly difficult piece to acquire.
