This one has really seen the Elephant! It’s an Original U.S. Civil War M1855 .58 Caliber Cartridge Box with its tins and the remnants of battle. Inside I found part of the wrapper from a cartridge and a broken roll of caps. I haven’t even pulled the tins to see if there’s anything inside.
You can tell by the condition of this relic box that this one didn’t sit in a warehouse for 100 years, this saw action. See scans for condition.
