Original World War II U.S. Army mountain rucksack with external metal frame, manufactured by Meese, Inc. and dated 1942.
The maker’s marking is clearly visible under the flap:

This style of rucksack was developed for U.S. Army mountain troops and is commonly identified as the M1941/J.Q.D. 88B Mountain Rucksack. It features the distinctive external tubular frame, olive drab canvas construction, multiple exterior pockets, webbing straps, leather-tab hardware and U.S. stencil.
This is an original WWII period piece, not a reproduction.
Condition:
Used vintage condition with substantial age and field/storage wear. Canvas shows fading, staining, discoloration, abrasions and areas of fraying/wear. Interior shows wear and deterioration in areas as shown. Straps and hardware show age and use. Original metal frame is present. No attempt has been made to clean or restore the pack.
