PRINCETON "CLASS OF 1953" ORANGE/BLACK RIBBON "TIGER PAINTED ON TOP" STRAW HAT For Sale

This is a Genuine Princeton University "Class of 1953" Boater-Straw Hat. It has the originalPrinceton Orange/Black ribbon and bow. The top has an original hand-painted artistic depiction of the Princeton Tiger mascot and the Class Year '53 (See pictures). The interior head label with crest says: "Superb Quality - Styled by Wormser." The inner leather sweatband says: "Superb Quality - Wormser Hatters to Men" (See Pictures). The Straw is a thick, sturdy weave. The original owner's initials (hand drawn) are still visible under the back brim (see pictures).
CONDITION:This authentic Princeton Boater Straw Hat is in Excellent pre-owned condition! The straw weave is completely intact and not cracked. The original Princeton-colored grosgrain ribbon is still bright and unfaded (see pictures). The colors of the original hand-painted top with the Tiger mascot is still bright and unfaded. The inner leather sweatband is fully intact, not cracked and still wears well (see pictures). The Wormser interior logo remains crisp. Inside, the mesh liner and top are all intact and in excellent condition (see pictures). The Hat shows a nice patina for a 73+ year-old straw hat! The patina is darker where you would expect it around the center of the hat, above the sweatband (see pictures). One inside row of the weave in an inner section is slightly raised but fully intact (see pictures). Overall, the hat is made from a thick straw weave that remains sturdy throughout. This is a great Princeton item and a Rare Find in this Excellent condition!
