These tiles display exceptional hand-painted character with vibrant turquoise, cobalt blue, green, aubergine, ochre and cream tones beneath a glossy glaze with age-appropriate crazing throughout. The slightly raised decoration and irregular handmade pottery form add warmth, depth and authenticity not found in later machine-made reproductions.
One tile depicts a seated figure holding a ceremonial object beside floral decoration, while the companion tile features a seated figure interacting with a colorful bird. Together they create a wonderfully decorative and highly collectible Near Eastern / Islamic art display.
