Offered is a beautiful matching pair of hand-carved Pennsylvania Dutch-style decorative wooden wall plaques.
Each plaque measures approximately 11 inches in diameter and features traditional Pennsylvania German folk-art motifs including stylized tulips, hearts, vines, and floral designs. The plaques are carved in relief from what appears to be solid cherry woodand have developed a rich warm patina over the past four decades.
Both pieces are signed and dated \"1984\" on the reverse by the artist. While I have not been able to positively identify the carver, the workmanship suggests they were produced by a skilled regional craftsman during the Pennsylvania Dutch folk-art revival of the late twentieth century.
These are decorative wall plaques intended for display and would complement a country, primitive, Americana, or Pennsylvania Dutch interior.
