Here we have a beautiful used Denmark Winslow pipe. The briar is absolutely breathtaking, literally. It looks like it belongs in a museum. I have added the accurate dimensions below. Bowl height equals Just at 2 inchesbut tapers. Bowl width equals = Large at just over 2&1/4 inches. Bore width equals= 7/8 inch. Pipe length is 51/2 inches. Overall condition there is a few minor scratches on the mouthpiece, could be buffed out but otherwise the pipe is absolutely stunning. I have taken extra photos, I believe the stem could be buffed out if necessary or use a softy bit. I have added a bunch of photos. Poul Winsløw began crafting pipes in 1969 (which means he was very young for the industry) for Preben Holm . By the time he was 22 years old, he was Preben's head assistant out of 45 pipe makers. This is a lot of responsibility but, clearly, Poul could handle it. In 1985, after coming back from vacation to see the factory closed and out of a job, he set up a workshop in his home in Hvidovre, Denmark.
Always having an artistic eye, Poul paints, sculpts, and makes high-grade pipes and mid-grade lines (the Crown) This one is Crown 300, Higher end briar, that often have vibrant colors and accents on the shanks. It's clear that he honed his skills with Preben since most of his pipes are quickly carved in freehand Danish fashion evocative of the 1970s, but he also makes some stellar handmade pieces with very comfortable stems. His stems are all acrylic bits that have pre-made tenons from another material, and many have very rich stains applied. Finishing the briar completely smooth, sandblasted, or rusticated (entirely or partially), Poul Winslow delivers pipes that are unique for the times.
