is imprinted on one of the caps. The other cap’s markers are indistinguishable but the caps & hooks are exactly alike. These scalloped caps are another indicator of their age

As is common with antique ornaments there are scratches & discoration; which only adds to their vintage charm. Please see photos for their condition.

Caps stamped “Made in US of A” were among the first mass-produced American glass Christmas balls, made after Max Eckardt partnered with Corning Glass Works to create a domestic alternative to German imports as war loomed in Europe.
Production began around 1937-1939, with the first large commercial batches appearing in 1939.
Early Shiny Brite caps (the ones marked
"Made in U.S. of A.") are often described as smooth-sided with a scalloped bottom edge. The sides of the metal cap are relatively flat/smooth, but the lower rim has a scalloped or petal-like shape.
This is different from the later postwar caps, which have deeply crimped or fluted (crinkled) sides all the way around and are marked "Shiny Brite Made in USA."
