[Up for sale is a rare, museum-quality authentic antique hand-carved Indian wooden sculpture depicting Bala Krishna (Infant/Baby Krishna) in a traditional kneeling devotional posture. Carved from a single piece of dense, high-quality old-growth tropical teak wood, this figure is full of immense historical character and possesses a stunning, naturally aged dark chocolate-brown patina built up over generations of handling.]

[ Given its flat, geometrically hatched base block and deeply sculpted profile, this piece likely originated as an architectural bracket or decorative vignette from a historical South Indian temple wagon (Ratha) or a grand family Haveli. The dense wood fiber structures give the piece an excellent, solid heft for its size.]

[ The bottom of the solid teak base features an ancient, hand-incised geometric mark composed of, right-angled lines. This appears to be an original artisan's workshop tally mark, structural layout line, or a traditional auspicious regional emblem commonly hand-carved into the underside of 19th-century Indian devotional figures during creation. The underside also displays the correct, uneven texture expected of a genuine antique.]
