This is a beautiful authentic antique Egyptian Revival figural brass inkwell, dating from the late Victorian to early Art Deco period (circa 1890s–1920s).This striking desk accessory features a highly stylized, kneeling Egyptian female figure resting on a rectangular base adorned with incised geometric patterns. The figure’s upper torso is attached via a sturdy rear hinge, opening smoothly to reveal the internal ink reservoir. The reservoir insert is missing. The underside shows classic period manufacturing indicators, including a rough sand-cast hollow interior and an original square nut mechanical fastener securing the figure to the base.
It measures 2.75 inches wide by 4.5 inches long by 5.5 inches tall and weighs roughly 2 lbs.
