Up for sale is a rare, authentic piece of vintage American Railroad history: an individual deep rectangular side baker/sauce dish in the highly desirable "GOULD" PATTERN, manufactured by Shenango China for the Erie Railroad.
This is a premium TOP-MARKED piece featuring the word "ERIE" beautifully written in its signature script style directly on the inside of the dish, surrounded by the classic pink floral and green leaf motif.
The underside features the prestigious L. BARTH & co. (New York) distributor backstamp. Because L. Barth & co. merged and changed its name in 1926, this backstamp firmly dates this specific dish as a first-era production run from the mid 1920s (1926 or earlier).

This chip occurred during its service life or early storage, but it is completely invisible from the top when the dish is sitting flat.
