RARE Antique ca. 1914 Emerson Oscillating Desktop Fan Type 21645 3 Speeds Work
Found stored in a wood chest when clearing out the house.
Height 14” Width 10”
Unaltered with the exception of a replacement cord, which would have been put in sometime before 1960, shown. Age wear on finish and frame.
No other repair or substitutions. Original parts only, including pin and hardware.
I did not move the the oscillation pin, so unknown if it oscillates. Shown on the video is the working three speeds. All original parts with wear, as shown.
Finish was japanned black, bronze accents. Circa 1914-1916. A friend who rehabs antiques here said the square speed switch and blade detail may indicate the earlier date, 1914.
I was uncertain how much cleaning I should do before packing as I am not familiar with antique mechanics. I just removed as dust as possible with a brush and rag.
I will be honest here, I was not sure how to price it. Anyone who knows about these welcome to message me. Also, I do not use much, but the shipping looks low. Here’s what it says on my end:

Would be great to restore, could also go to preservationist who would keep as-is as a study. (Ok, I might want to keep it, it’s kind of beautiful! But it should probably go to a collector. I tentatively leave it up this weekend on sale).
