ROYAL DOULTON ENGLAND FOX HUNT HUNTSMAN HOUNDS HORSES CANDLE STAND, early 1930\'s For Sale

For the fox hunt afficionado, a scarce Royal Doulton (England) Seriesware candle stand featuring huntsman, Foxhounds and riders on horses in a countryside setting. Per author Louise Irvine\'s reference book, this series began production in the 1930 to 1935 time frame. This handled candle stand measures an impressive 9 1/4\" tall by 5 3/4\" across at the base. The main characters are presented in relief, giving a wonderful dimension to this piece. All hand painted, including a gold edge at both top and bottom. Typical glaze crazing. Two superficial losses around rim (see second to last photo). No cracks, repairs or restorations as determined by black light and lighted magnification exams.
